I am a licensed early childhood teacher with 9 years of experience teaching both grades 1 & 2 in Boston, Ma. I have worked with students of all capabilities, including special needs and English Language Learners. Additionally, I have considerable and consistent experience providing various interventions for math and reading within my classroom.

My reading interventions align with the science of reading, pulling from various curriculums such as Orton-Gillingham & Wilson ( rules-based reading approaches) using resources collected and compiled over my career. My math interventions align with common core standards and I typically teach with visual and concrete methods.

My licenses are in early childhood, moderate disabilities, and English as a second language. I have received certificates for trainings within the science of reading and Orton-Gillingham.

My approach is very data-centered which can show appropriate progress over a 6-week cycle based on your child's starting point. Working with me, you will see a teacher who uses various manipulatives and strategies specifically catered to your child's needs and preferences.

I prefer to work with the parent in determining subjects that warrant greater instruction. I would speak with you about your concerns and try to make that the priority for the sessions, but ultimately it depends on data collected, student performance, and stamina observed. Any school work or concerns are helpful to review during our initial meeting/phone call.
