About

Are you looking for help with math, English, reading, or writing? Look no further!

I am a former college adjunct professor and tutor, looking to engage with students in need of extra support, from middle school students through college undergraduates. From fractions and early ELA to SAT and college preparation, I'm thrilled to meet students where they are at and come up with tutoring plans to help them get where they need to go.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology, and a Masters Degree in Sociology focusing on Statistics. I was awarded "Student Choice for Extraordinary Faculty" in 2017, at the Community College of Allegheny County.

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved to learn. It brings me so much joy! On the other hand, the feeling of "not getting it," or not meeting my learning goals in school could be deeply frustrating and discouraging.

Every time I give a student extra support, help them to learn or re-learn something vital to their education, I am brought back to that joyous place of learning. I love what I do because learning should be as fun and exciting of an experience for your child as it is for me! Education should be a wonderful experience, not a disheartening or frustrating one. I am excited about what I do, because I appreciate the opportunity to engaging with students as they learn, experiencing that joy.

Frequently asked questions

Before our first tutoring session, I like to schedule a quick conversation with the student and/or parent.  We can discuss goals for tutoring (ie.  practicing schoolwork over the summer? preparing for SAT?), timeline (ie. a few weeks of extra support? continuous support?), and learning preferences (ie. visual learners? learning through repetition?).  That way, when the first tutoring session commences we can hit the ground running in a way that is most beneficial for what the student needs.
