About
Hello, My name is Meaghan and I am ready to be your tutor. Remote and hybrid learning can seem scary or impossible however I can ensure that the school year will be a positive one and will be full of learning and fun. I have been tutoring for the last ten years and have significant experience with preschool/PreK, elementary, middle, and high school students, and their curriculum. I am a licensed early childhood, elementary, and special education teacher (PreK-8) in the state of Massachusettes. I am currently working on my Master's degree in special education and will graduate in May of 2021. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA through both my bachelor's and master's degrees. I am confident in my ability to create curriculum, implement curriculum, and also follow a curriculum that is provided. During the closure of the school buildings last spring due to COVID, I assisted students during their remote learning in addition to creating additional curriculum in order for the student to receive an education similar to one they would have received in the regular classroom. I absolutely love what I do and my goal is for my students to love learning!
I love working with students and believe that it is my life long career. When working with a student and they are working on a skill or subject matter and they "get it" or the "lightbulb goes off", I know that I have made a difference and have done my job.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During our first session, we get to know each other better. I learn about the student's expectations for our sessions along with their strengths and weaknesses. tutoring sessions should not be stressful, so my goal is to take away the stress a student may have and put the fun back into learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the education field for over fifteen years and have significant experience with students of all ages. Students with special needs and those without, will all benefit from my training in creating and breaking down of curriculum in manageable pieces.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates are dependent on the age of the student, their needs, and the number of students.
How did you get started teaching?
Growing up, I was the oldest of my siblings and cousins so when we played school, I was always the teacher. From that time, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher and make a difference in students' lives.
