About
I do not have a business. I am rather a professional. I earned a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Lesley University and a BA in Political Science from Bradford College. I hold two Massachusetts Initials Teaching Licenses (History and Foreign Language - French) for middle / high school.
My background includes four years of full time teaching secondary French levels 1-4 courses following the Massachusetts' Foreign Language Curriculum standards in accordance with the ACTFL proficiency guidelines. Also, as a substitute teacher, I instructed diverse middle / high school students in World History: Human Beginnings and Early Civilizations (Africa, Mesopotamia, Phoenicia, Egypt, India and China). I Modified lessons for ELL students based on the teachers’ instructions. I inspired students to stay focused and be accountable; maintained appropriate standards of behavior.
I have the passion and ability of an effective tutor with patience and a true desire to share my knowledge with others.
I have the depth and breadth of subject content. I am a native speaker and have the capability to help students make real life connections through culture, and communication.
I will use instructional technology and employ efficient sheltered teaching strategies to enhance comprehension. Also, I will modify my tutoring sessions to address any given student's learning difference (i.e. students on IEPs / 504s) with frequent repetition / clarification, auditory / visual presentation and additional time to complete tasks.
I love to be able to share my knowledge with others.
