Moran Orton Gillingham Reading Tutoring
About
Hello! I am an Elementary Reading Specialist who is passionate about helping students become stronger readers and develop a love of reading! I have earned Bachelor and Masters degrees from Boston College (B.A. in Elementary Education/Applied Psychology and Human Development and M.Ed in Reading & Literacy), where I was awarded the Golden Apple award for excellence in teaching through my graduate program.
I am a certified practitioner in the Orton-Gillingham method, a student-centered method of teaching phonics and literacy. I am certified at the Associate Level through the Orton Gillingham Academy (formerly the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators).
I would be delighted to speak with you about this method and your learner in greater detail! You may contact me at [email protected] with any questions! I look forward to hearing from you!
During the pandemic, I transitioned to remote teaching and tutoring and became adept at bringing the multisensory tutoring strategies I employ into the virtual space. Virtual tutoring allows families to access the Orton-Gillingham method, which is highly specialized and may not be available in all areas, in the comfort of your own home.
