What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I approach each student as a separate and unique universe. That is, I have a variety of methods I use depending on what type of student I am learning with. If a student is more visual than others I tend to use more diagrams than usual, if a student is more linguistically oriented I tend to parse through texts with that student. All depends on the specific strengths of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a teacher since 1992, have been part of the Rabbi Soloveitchick Teacher Training Institute, and I am currently involved in the Ayeka cohort of teachers being trained under the Ayeka Soulful Educators group. I attend a variety of teacher training programs during the year and I tutor regularly during the academic year as well as during the summer months.
