Hi! My name is Bethany Dumont and I am finishing up my license to teach grades 1-6. I have lots of experience working with students individually and in small groups as well as lesson planning to fulfill curriculum goals. I have also worked as a substitute teacher and have experience working with students in various school districts at various grade levels.
I would love the opportunity to work with your student and help them reach and exceed their goals! I am available to tutor in all elementary areas of education (math, ELA, social studies, science) as well as student skills such as test prep and organization. A bit about me, I am finishing my Elementary Education degree at Bridgewater State University and I will get my teaching license for grades 1-6 in December of 2020. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have an initial tutoring session with a new student and take the time to see where they are starting from academically and what skills and concepts they could benefit from working on most. I also like to speak with parents/guardians about their goals for tutoring and any concerns they may have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have almost completed my Elementary Education teaching license for grades 1-6. I have working in both tutoring, small group, and large formats with students in West Bridgewater, Taunton, and Brockton. I am a substitute teacher in Dartmouth and will be completing my student teaching practicum experience in the fall of 2020. I have also worked as a teaching assistant at a summer school in New Bedford.

I have worked with a wide variety of students including students with disabilities and students learning English.
