About
Hello! My name is Ranjita, and I specialize in tutoring biology, genetics, and statistics. I hold a Ph.D. in Genetics with a minor in Statistics, equipping me with a strong foundation to guide students through these subjects effectively. Over the years, I have cultivated a deep understanding of complex scientific and statistical concepts and enjoy breaking them down into simpler, relatable ideas that students can easily grasp.
I have extensive experience tutoring students at high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels in a range of subjects, including biology, genetics, ecology, botany, statistics, biostatistics, language proficiency tests like TOEFL, computer programming in R and Python, business data analysis, and spreadsheet modeling. My versatile expertise enables me to address diverse academic needs and tailor my teaching approach accordingly.
My tutoring style is adaptive, focusing on the unique needs of each student. I use interactive methods, real-life examples, and problem-solving techniques to ensure my students not only learn but also retain and apply their knowledge. I’ve worked both in one-on-one tutoring sessions and small group settings, tailoring my approach to maximize engagement and learning outcomes.
In addition to my academic credentials, I have a strong passion for fostering curiosity and confidence in my students. Whether it's helping a high school student prepare for exams, assisting a college student with statistical analysis, mentoring a graduate student in research methodologies, or guiding professionals in mastering tools like R, Python, or Excel for business data analysis, I strive to make learning an empowering experience. I am committed to helping students overcome challenges, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve their academic and personal goals.
