About
Hi! My name is Liliko and I will be a sophomore engineering student at Tufts University this fall. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and also hope to pursue a double major in physics.
I have completed the AP Physics course at my high school with a 97% final grade as well as scored a 5 on both the AP Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism exams.
To tell you a little bit about my tutoring background, I began tutoring honors level physics my senior year of high school as an extracurricular activity. Afterwards, I continued to tutor physics and also precalculus to students at the local high school once I entered Tufts University. My teaching style usually consists of solving problems as a team with my student while discussing each step and talking about how we got there, why that step is important, and where to go next. However, some students also like a more indiviual style in which they try as much of the problem as they can first and then come together once they get stuck. I am very flexible with teaching styles and am willing to adjust to your needs!
I greatly value my students' experience in every tutoring session, and I find it important to help my students not only understand each topic, but to also find some joy in what they are learning. From personal experience, I know first hand that learning is a lot easier when you are interested in what you're doing!
If you are looking for a passionate tutor who will help you gain a deep understanding of topics in new and interesting ways, please do not hesitate to reach out!

My favorite part about tutoring students is helping them find a passion in acadmics and seeing them find deeper understanding in various subjects. This is always so rewarding and motivates me to continue tutoring the subjects that I love!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With every new student, I like to ask them how they learn best. Do they like words? Drawings? Readings? I also like to take note of their preference of learning processes. Some students like to work step by step with their tutor, while others like to work more independently and reach out with questions when they need help.
