To The Moon Tutoring
About
I am a Massachusetts certified teacher of English as a Second Language as well as Elementary and Special Education. I have been a teacher for the past 10 years. Teaching 5th and 6th grade to students who have just arrived to our beautiful country. I discovered a passion for teaching while living in Dominican Republic. I would teach English to all of the neighborhood children. I recognize the potential that every human has and understand that we all need support and encouragement to unlock our true capabilities.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet a student I want first to know what are his/her goals for themselves. Without a goal /target there is nothing to strive for. Another hugely important part of the process is finding students likes and dislikes to facilitate instruction using high interest methods as well as materials. Learning should be fun, I truly believe that if you feel comfortable and are having a good time that enables optimal retention.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Masters Degree in Special Education. My education allowed me to develop methodologies and strategies to work with a very diverse population from intellectually gifted to those with learning difficulties such as dyslexia or processing issues. My work with teaching English to students whose native language is not english has granted me innumeral experiences of developing highly engaging, motivating lessons that ensure academic achievement.
