I have been a high school science teacher for the last 22 years. I have taught both biology and chemistry, and I am currently teaching chemistry at the high school level. I am certified through the state of Massachusetts in chemistry for grades nine through twelve. I have done private tutoring throughout my career as a science teacher.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For the first meeting I would sit down with the student and assess their areas of weakness. Once I determined what they are then we would move forward and pick one topic at a time to work on
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have obtained a bachelors of science specifically in biochemistry. I also received a Masters degree in secondary education. I have been a science teacher for 22 years teaching biology and chemistry. I am currently certified in the state of Massachusetts for chemistry, grades nine through 12.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My hourly rate is $50 per hour but can be negotiated based on the students needs.
How did you get started teaching?
After receiving a bachelors degree in biochemistry, I pursued teaching because it was something that I was very passionate about.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of students. Mostly high school students with various degrees of ability. Some special education students as well as regular education students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to find a tutor with experience in the specific area of need.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I believe they should take the time to self assess their areas of weakness.
