Rafika's Tutoring
About
I am a retired Physics Professor with over 30 years of experience in both teaching and tutoring a broad range of mathematical and scientific subjects. During my tenure in academia, I specialized in Physics while also tutoring students in various levels of mathematics, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Financial Mathematics. I have worked with students at both the high school and college levels, helping them not only grasp complex concepts but also build a solid foundation for further study and academic success.
In addition to my subject-specific tutoring, I have extensive experience in preparing students for standardized tests and exams, including college-level entrance exams, SATs, and other assessments in mathematics and science. My approach to tutoring is student-centered, focusing on individual needs, personalized learning strategies, and fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
My background in Physics allows me to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications, making abstract principles more accessible to students. I am passionate about instilling confidence in students and helping them achieve their full potential in both math and physics. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring students who have gone on to pursue careers in engineering, mathematics, finance, and the sciences, and I continue to find great joy in seeing my students succeed.
