Hi! I'm a current senior in high school who scored a 1500+ on the SAT with a perfect score on the math section. I have had prep classes and tutoring of my own, but I primarily self studied for hundreds of hours in order to perfect the test and receive this score. I have taken the test numerous times, and along the way, I have picked up all of the tips and tricks that you typically won't see in prep books. Since the content is still fresh in my head, I know the exact questions students can expect on test day. When I was studying, I found that a lot of the content I was receiving was outdated, so it is important that I give all of my students practice that will actually help them on the current SAT. In terms of math and reading, I have taken all the highest levels offered at my high school. I am currently taking AP calculus and AP Literature at the college level. I have past experience teaching advanced reading and math at Kumon for two years. My service includes sending all practice tests, grading practice tests, analyzing student progress and live calls where we will go through how to solve problems.
Something I enjoy about the work I do is the ability to relate and connect to my students on a deeper level, especially since I am not too much older than them. Not so long ago, I was in their position studying for the SAT and I know how stressful this time can be. I hope I can ease some of their stress and build their confidence for test day!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically when I start working with a new student, I like to probe their current abilities using a diagnostic test. Following this test, I will analyze their strengths and weaknesses and come up with a personalized study plan to bridge all the gaps they may have at the moment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a senior in high school, and I have taken the SAT around 5 times. I have had tutoring of my own, went to prep classes, and self-studied for hundreds of hours to the point where I know the test inside and out. However, the hardest part for me was streamlining all of this advice and actually applying it to test day. Mastering this was not easy for me, so as an SAT tutor, my goal is to compile all of the information I have picked up along the way in order to best suit each students' personalized needs.
In terms of past experience with teaching, I have worked at Kumon for two years. There, I have worked with kids all ages, from preschool to 12th grade. I can work well with all ages and I know the best techniques to help students master all levels of reading and math. At Kumon, I learned how to track student progress and mold my teaching in a way that suits my student's learning style. I had to make sure that my students were equipped with the self-sufficiency skills to tackle tough reading and math problems outside of our tutoring sessions.
