About
I approach every student with an open mind. We spend the first few minutes of our first session getting to know each other, then discussing the ways in which the student would like to learn. Some are very visual, so in following sessions I come prepared with graphics and images to help explain content. For those who have difficulty with memorization, I create quizlets for us to use and practice, and make sure to have pneumonic devices on hand for every concept. My goal is to tailor my lessons to each students, and bring lots of fun and energy into each session!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored for three years, and am currently studying biology and child studies. This equips me with advanced biology knowledge, as well as the knowledge of how to teach it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $16/hour, but I offer the first session at a discounted price, $10/hour! This is because my first session is mostly devoted to getting to know my student and their learning style.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always loved working with kids, and this quickly morphed into tutoring them when I was just in middle school! I worked at the local elementary school for a program called ReadingPartners, and helped to teach elementary schoolers how to read. Since then, I've been teaching higher and higher levels, especially in biology and writing.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of all ages, ranging from four to twenty years old! My students have had many different learning styles, and I've learned how to tailor my lessons to everyone!
