I love teaching and learning from my students. I look forward to going to school everyday, seeing my students, and helping them to accomplish their individual academic goals. I am also a high school lacrosse coach, which I enjoy tremendously. I love being active in both mind and body and I believe that there is a correlation between successful students and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student, I first assess what they hope to accomplish through tutoring. I assess their current performance level in the subject. From there, I have them identify one attainable and measurable goal and then create mini goals or objectives for them to accomplish.

I have a Master's Degree in education and over 17 years of teaching experience at the high school and middle school level. I currently teach in one of the nation's top performing charter schools and am well versed in the International Baccalaureate curriculum. I am certified in Special Education 5-12, History 5-12, and Elementary Education. I support my high school students in all subjects across the curriculum. I have a track record of turning students academic performance around and helping them to achieve their academic goals.

For online lessons, my fee is $30 per hour. For in person lessons, my fee is $50 per hour. This is based on years of experience, a proven academic track record especially with struggling students and students with learning differences, and my level of expertise in the various subject areas.

I began teaching as a literacy teacher at a small private school for students with severe special needs. I knew that I wanted to help students connect with learning and feel successful. I then taught for the Department of Youth Services, teaching all subjects at the high school level, helping students who were commited to turning their lives around and graduating from high school. I was accepted to Teach For America, where I taught American History and literature in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, in underserved urban schools. Finally after earning my Master's Degree and several professional certifications, I began teaching at a small but academically rigorous high school in Massachusetts, where I support my students in the IB curriculum.

I have worked with all ages and all types of learners. I have taught students who have been motivated and naturally able, those who are hardworkers but may struggle with certain subjects, and those who are reluctant learners. I appreciate and respect all of my students and their various differences. I work hard to find a way to get them to connect with the learning and become invested in their academic journey.
