Tutoring With Tracy
About
I am a special education teacher for students in pre-k-8. I have been teaching for 12 years. Recently I became trained in Wilson. After implementing it with my students, I have seen tremendous growth. It incorporates decoding, encoding, phonemic awareness, writing, and comprehension. I work with student with specific learning disabilities, autism, adhd, central auditory processing disorders, communication impairments, and anxiety. I have 2 children of my own who are now 19 and 21. They were both reading before starting kindergarten. I'm kind, patient, and dedicated. With the school disruption, many students have fallen behind, but with my help, I can hopefully help to catch some children up so they can perform at or closer to, grade level.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I meet a new student, I typically try to start with some fun learning games while talking to the child and getting to each other. I explain what I'll be teaching and the process for doing so. I also will ask the parent/caregiver about anything that may provide incentive if their child is reluctant.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's degree in special education, grades pre-k-8. I am trained in the Wilson Reading System, Rewards (an upper elementary phonics program focusing on multi syllable words), and Project Read, which is an Orton-Gilligham approach to teaching phonics.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Typically I charge $40 an hour, but I can be flexible if the situation warrants it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students with specific learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, communication impairments, as well as anxiety/depression.
