Tutoring By Kev
About
I am able to break the information down into terms the student can understand. There are multiple ways to explain something and if someone doesn't understand it one way, I think of a different way to explain it so that it makes sense to them.
The first time I tutored somebody I was in middle school. I helped one of my classmates with his math. It felt really good to be able to use what I knew to help someone else. I still feel that way today and love when my former tutorees (lol) thank me later down the line for helping them through their classes.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Usually I ask him/her to tell me what they have problems with and we go over it together. Then we just go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've tutored privately and through the colleges I went to. I stay up to date by reading through textbooks occasionally... although the math (and English, etc) doesn't change. They may come up with new ways of teaching it, but 2+2 is still 4. Just like the square of the length of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other two sides (a²+b²=c²).
What types of students have you worked with?
I tutor students from elementary school through college. I mostly tutor college classes though. English (grammar), science - mainly chemistry and anatomy/biology, and math through calculus.
