About
I am a senior at Centenary college majoring in English, film, and writing. I have been an English tutor for my collegiate peers for two years, assisting students with assignments in all disciplines (sociology, psychology, English, biology, history, etc.). I am also currently an official editor of my professor's published research project on Jack London. I will be pursuing a Master's degree in education at the end of this academic school year. I intend to become a professor, which I believe speaks for my passion in teaching.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
One of the most important aspects of tutoring is allowing the student to feel comfortable and capable. I first want to understand the dynamic of the student, the assignment, and the class/subject. Once I understand these struggles in depth, I can more throughly assess what process would best benefit the student. I also focus more on asking questions rather than making statements. In doing so, the student must practice thinking critically. This assures they are developing a skill they can apply to ALL assignments, not just the current one we are working on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an English Tutor at Centenary College of Louisiana for 2 years. During this time, I helped students develop their brainsorming processes, structure theses, edit and revise, etc. This was not exclusive to English papers, eiher. It included papers from all disciplines: English, history, Spanish, biology, sociology, psychology, etc.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer to discuss this on an individual basis, but I typically charge $20-$25 an hour.
