Academic Tutoring
About
I am proud to provide personalized help tailored to you or your child’s academic needs and goals. I worked as an Elementary Education teacher for 10 years with a Masters Degree in Education. I tutor all subjects up to grade 5 including math. I really enjoy opening the door to understanding and mastering reading and writing. I also love to help adults and children learn English as a second language.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I interview the parent and child to determine their needs and goals. I will also give the student a pre-test to determine a starting point for instruction. Upon the second session, I will have a curriculum for study based on Louisiana State Standards. For adult ESL students, I begin after determining the student’s current vocabulary base in English. All lessons are given entirely in English with the help of picture aids.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Education from Our Lady of Holy Cross College and approximately ten years experience in the classroom at parochial and public schools.
