About
I am a licensed speech language pathologist trained in multi-sensory Orton Gillingham methods for helping children with reading difficulties. (You will find a link to a brief description of the method below) I have a masters degree and 3 years of experience working children with reading and language difficulties. When children have difficulties learning to read, despite intelligence, motivation and education opportunities, they need a more specialized and explicit approach to reading. Specific instruction in sound awareness, reading fluency, dividing words into their parts and alphabet knowledge are key!
Every child is different and I believe in tailoring my instruction to the needs of the individual, assessing progress throughout instruction and providing parents with the tools to help their children outside of sessions.

Depending on your insurance plan you may also be able to ustilize your out of network benefits. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
It truly is the most rewarding experience to guide a child who is struggling, thinking they aren't smart enough to be successful, and show them that they CAN be! When children with reading difficulties are taught in a way that is access to them, it changes their self esteem and their lives. This is truly what makes me love my job and my students and motivates me to continue to provide evidenced instruction with understanding patience and grace.
