About
I have recently received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in Creative Writing. During my time in undergraduate studies, I focused primarily on Short Fiction pieces, American Literature, British Literature, and essays. Not only do I enjoy reading and writing, but I enjoy helping people as well. With my aid, I intend to help you grow as an individual and as a student.
I enjoy the process of becoming better! As a Division 2 Cross Country/Track athlete, every day was a grind. But, every day was another brick to the overall goal of graduating college. Maybe your goal is to do better on an essay or understand a certain text. I will tell you this, with patience and perseverance you can improve and succeed. It comes down to whether you are willing to at least try and have the intention to learn. I believe in you and I want you to succeed. My life is based on compassionate living and academia is a great medium to live out this ethos.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would first like to establish a friendly and direct relationship with the student. Let them know I am there to help them in any way I can academically, within reason. When working with a new student I want them to always at least give their best effort in every assignment no matter what that effort may be. Everyone learns differently and as a tutor, you have to be flexible and accommodate students. I will be respectful and courteous and do my best to aid the student. Video sessions, live document reviewing, and student communication will be the key aspects of my personal tutoring plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Bachelors of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I am the founder of the organization The Kayak Project. TKP seeks to raise awareness of everyday litter and how we as humans can make a difference. Established in 2018, we have participated in 5 land projects and 2 water-based projects picking up trash found in the community and lakes. During my time in Undergrad, a peer and colleague of mine founded the campus organization Majors Without Borders. Majors Without borders brings together students from various educational backgrounds, demographics, and cultures to aid in the overall growth as students. Through discussion and exercises, students can learn from other disciplines to help them grow not only academically but as a human being.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system.
How did you get started teaching?
Tutoring during my undergraduate studies occurred through an informal route. I would be in the library and around campus helping my fellow English majors, or even proofreading and adding comments and recommendations to other majors essays. All volunteer-based, but I can look back and say this was one of the most beneficial things I did during my studies. I enjoy helping people and watching some of your peers succeed because of the initiative you took to help them grow as a student is a great testament to my ethos of compassionate living.
What types of students have you worked with?
