About
Hi! I am Dr. Carolyn and I am very excited to extend my second career in tutoring to this platform at tutor.com. In the last two years I have retired from 24 year as a licensed, clinical psychologist. Even when I was practicing clinical psychology, so many aspects of that particular profession helped me to do specific tutoring work with people who came to see me for other reasons for examples psychologist are very well-versed in all aspects of memory, and how to enhance one’s memory. Language is a Primary discipline of clinical psychologist test. An anxiety is something that I’ve been able to treat successfully hundreds of times over the years. So moving from one career to another has been very seamless and very rewarding. my two loves outside of psychology are reading and writing. I’m a lifelong reader, and I’ve been writing since I was six years old. My belief is that everyone has their own set of strengths and skills, and, most importantly, wishes with regard the role that reading and writing might have in their life. With every new student I meet, I speak with Great Specificity about what he or she may want to gain from the partnership with me. I never presume to know what is best for my student. I learn from the student what it is that they want. My part is supplying all of the material necessary to help the student gain, precisely that which is what is desired with regard acquiring Literacy or improved reading, comprehension or developing, perhaps a love of reading. Similarly with writing there are so many forms of writing. It is a great pleasure to work with beginning readers and, beginning writers success in these endeavors brings untold joy to me. I also very much love to work with older or more advanced readers and riders, particularly riders who are wanting to improve The, quality of their writing, whether it be the persuasive quality or the Descriptive, quality or the whatever quality it is that your professor is expecting of you. . As a child, I read prolifically, and now, even when I was practicing as a doctor. I read two or three books every week. I don’t say this to brag. I say this to truly describe the great enjoyment that reading can bring to someone. Even someone with a full caseload of clients and a family and lots of pets and a very busy schedule. Reading is not something I would ever give up. Along with reading comes writing and I am particularly gifted at helping people to learn the both hand-in-hand with each other. There is so much joy and so much happiness in helping and observing a person who did not before believe that reading was possible, as they begin to put letters into sounds, and sounds and letters into words and words into meaning. The minute that the frustration and the hopelessness feelings give way to comprehension and joy and awareness of the one’s ability - the magical moment of understanding that “oh wow, yes I can read!” is one of the greatest of reward for me . Throughout my professional careers. I’ve
Become acutely aware of the fact that every single has different needs, different wishes, different struggles, and different strategies and plants that need to be developed in concert with me in order to make the best possible plan for bringing the joy of reading into their life as well and as soon as possible. I am not a cookie cutter teacher every single student receives a different tutoring strategy from me, based in large part on all of the principles from cut psychology, which I practiced over the decades, and have to do with my thorough scientific understanding of memory, learning, reading comprehension, Anxiety and how to minimize it, human motivation, the works. Because of my awareness that each and every individual is different and that for each person a particular And specifically tailored plan for learning is required in order to have the greatest and Dan success when learning to read, or to write, or to write in particular ways. I am very devoted to my students and will stay with them until they reach success, and will be very encouraging and very much hoping that they will stick with it until they have all of the success that is possible different and specific style of learning Whether you struggle with the rudiments of literacy, or whether you struggle with more advanced reading comprehension or other particularly young people with one of my greatest loves, and that is literacy and writing. I’ve written a number of published papers, and I have had the opportunity to tutor, mini young people, both children, high schoolers, college graduates, and those trying to enter graduate school in terms of dealing with test preparation, best practices regarding memory, and overcoming test anxiety. Reading I find to be one of the greatest joys of life and teaching it to young people or older people who have not yet received it as the gift that it can be, or who have struggled with it, and found it to be something, not so wonderful, is one of my greatest pleasures, I’ve not had a failure yet in effort to teach reading, and all of my writing students have developed basic proficiency in writing if not having developed excellence in writing, sometimes in multiple types of writing. I will be very eager to meet you as a potential student if you would like to discuss any or all of these possibilities with me my name is Dr. Carolyn Schneiderman, And I am at present taking new students. If I sound like a good match for you I hope that you will contact me soon, and I will be right back with you.
