Aaron's Tutoring Business
About
I'm Aaron! I am an incoming applied math Ph.D. student at Brown University, and I graduated last year from Washington University in St. Louis, where I studied math, computer science, and Mandarin Chinese. I was a teaching assistant for 5 courses in college, and I really love working with students and helping them understand the content. I have also tutored a Turkish refugee in English for one year and have tutored students in math and related subjects privately before.
I received a 36 on the ACT, a 170 on GRE math, and I maintained a 3.99 GPA overall in college and a 4.0 in my major areas. I was a grader for Graph Theory and Topology II in college. I completed the standard pure and applied math undergraduate courses as well as graduate coursework in algebraic and differential topology, complex analysis, and dynamical systems.
I TA'd courses in Advanced Algorithms and Analysis of Algorithms three times in college, and for these positions, I ran tutoring sessions, recitations, and graded assignments. I have been programming since early high school, and I have experience with a variety of languages. I am experienced in Python and Mathematica, proficient in C++ and Java, and have some experience in R and Matlab. I have recently been learning Julia.
I am easy to reach and will reply quickly to your messages. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson! Thanks!
I want to do all that I can to help my students improve in their work. I am happy to share any resources I can with them and work with them to find mutually beneficial teaching methods. I like when students bring questions and problems that we can work through together.
