About

My name is Brittany Harris, and I am passionate about not only teaching students the subjects they need to learn, but teaching them how to learn more effectively. My unique background allows me to help anyone of any age from subjects like kindergarten English to college-level Psychology, but I can also teach them how to develop their study skills, time management skills, and organization techniques. I can also help high school students and adults figure out their career goals and help them find volunteering gigs, internships, or jobs that fit their interests. I am more than happy to provide my resume and/or cirriculum vitae's per request, and talk with you in general about my background and experiences - just give me a call, text, or email!

I love watching people grow and find their power. I was very unfocused and fidgety all throughout K through 12, and it took a lot of great teachers to mentor me in how to actively listen, stay organized, and remain focused on my goals. I am very happy with where I am today and it is because of adults who put in the work to help me succeed. That is exactly why I love tutoring - I get to pass on what I've learned and watch as students accomplish their goals and gain a more positive outlook on their education.

    Frequently asked questions

I will get your request on here and give you a call! I'll ask you a little bit about your student to get to know what their needs are, and from there we will decide pricing, how often we will meet, and where we will meet! You can also reach out to me at (812) 850-0208.

Questions that can help me understand what they need are:

    How old are they?

    Are they introverted or extraverted?

Do they focus well or need help staying alert?

    What is their favorite snack?

What subject(s) do they need to be taught?

Do they need help with study habits or organization?

I tutored a non-traditional student for 1 year in Psychology and Gender Studies. I taught him organization skills and how to talk with his professor when he was struggling. I also tutored a student who only Spanish in kindergarten-level English. I used TPR strategies and we would do the lessions at the library at IUS so we could use the computer and white board to supplement the teachings.
