About
I have been teaching 4th grade Math, Reading and Science for three years. My passion is finding an engaging way to learn difficult content. As I understand how my students learn best, I adjust my teaching strategies to their learning methods. A general plan for my lessons include: modeled teacher instruction, guided teacher and student practice, then individual student practice and mastery of the skill. I am passionate about seeing the light bulb moment for students. Sometimes, it just takes a little extra practice to get there.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin by building a relationship. I want my students to feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes, this is where learning begins! I approach learning with gradual release. "I do, we do, you do!" This approach allows students to find confidence and independence. I also incorporate their learning style once I find works best.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Fine Arts. I have been teaching 4th grade math, reading, and science for three years with experience in teaching online and in person.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
How did you get started teaching?
My journey in teaching started when I was a student aid for a second grade class. I enjoyed every minute there, I thought, "can I really do something I love this much for a living?" Ever since, I have loved getting to know my students and new methods for education!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all elementary grade levels: Kindergarten-Fifth Grade.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for specifics, there may be a tutor who is passionate about your learning style!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think through your tutor's approach to learning. If this sounds applicable to you, give it a try. Tutoring should be enjoyable, make sure your tutor has a passion for learning!
