About
I truly enjoy teaching and learning. I struggle with a learning disability but it has not stopped me from continuing my education! Growing up with this issue has taught me unique skills to learn and memorize material and allows me to help other students with similar issues! We are not defined by our disabilities! We can over come them!
I love seeing my students succeed. Celebrating each milestone, even if you deem it small is how we as students keep going and deflect that burn out often seen in the medical field!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First time we meet, it will be to get to know each other. See if we are a good fit! I ask the student to bring a few materials that they are struggling with (it can be a question, a specific topic etc) so I can see where you're struggling and figure out a strategy to attack those areas! I also ask to come with an area/ topic you rock at! We need balance!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors and masters degree in biology and biomedical engineering! Currently working towards my MD (currently a 3rd year!) I have tutored and taught at all levels in my education.
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring my second year of undergrad. I was asked to tutor student athletes at first. I had a great time! I opened up to take more students from all walks of life, including high school. My last year as an undergrad and through out my masters program I began my teaching assistant classes, I was in charge of specific undergrad classes (bio I and II as well as A&P and medical terminology for pre-nursing classes)
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide range of students from high school through RN students!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Some times teaching styles do not work with what the student needs. Seek out a tutor willing to meet before you commit to tutoring. Being able to click and relate to the tutor will help tremendously in your learning experience!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be specific on what you're having issues with, be realistic if you've put in 100% effort. Some times we as students feel we will fail and not succeed, that is reflected into our studying and learning.
