Meador Tutoring

About

I believe a large part of tutoring is confidence-building and creating a better person overall. My reward comes from seeing a student who is confused (which happens a lot with chemistry!) come to understand a complex topic. I want to be a friendly face that my students trust and enjoy seeing. I'll always ask how they're doing, and am willing to help with any subject I can!

I have my Bachelors in Secondary Education with an emphasis on chemistry from K-State and am about to finish my Masters of Divinity from MBTS. I spent a year tutoring before going back to get my post-grad.

Frequently asked questions

I start by asking how they feel about their life and their class. I want to understand what's going on in their world that makes it hard for them to succeed. Then I find out where their class is in their curriculum and determine if I need to cover prior information before jumping in at that point.

I have my Bachelors in Secondary Education, which included a semester of student teaching high school chemistry at Blue Valley Northwest. I have experience tutoring and teaching small groups and one-on-one.

My lessons are $50/hr.

I've worked with students from freshman year of high school through senior year of college. I've taught weekend lessons to adults with disabilities, and engineering to kindergartners.

Do I have any resources that can help me with this? Have I solved a similar problem before? What do I remember from when I was taught this?
