Katie Carder Turtoring

Hello! I’m Katie Carder and I am a former high school chemistry and physics teacher. I taught for 10 years in Olathe, KS and now work as a chemist in research and development at a local coatings manufacturer.

Because of my extensive background in physical science, I offer basic tutoring services for high school students. I have experience in general (intro) chemistry, general (intro) physics, earth science, and some algebra. I also can help with ACT science section preparation. NOTE: I am NOT affiliated with any official ACT prep program.

Tutoring with me can include: helping your student to understand notes they took in class, help with homework assignments, help with laboratory assignments, among anything else your student might need to be successful in their chemistry or physics class!

Chemistry and physics are a different world of science than what your student may be used to. There’s a learning curve associated with these classes, no matter who they take it from. If your student is frustrated in their chemistry or physics class, and they’re just not getting the support they need in school, reach out! I have helped hundreds of students to realize they CAN do chemistry AND they enjoy it! I use real world examples and hands-on activities to make lessons more accessible and interesting.
