Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin tutoring by getting to know my new student to make sure we are a good fit. Our first meeting will always be free to discuss possible options as well as what each party expects. I like to learn what my student has found helpful with past tutors or teachers so we can put our own fun spin on learning, while making sure our time is as beneficial as possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor’s Degree
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am very flexible with my prices. My prices will depend on the subject, class level (elementary, high school ect.) and the times at which we are meeting.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been helping those within my classes as well as younger students since early junior high. Many teachers often asked me to spend extra time with students who were falling behind and would send us to study in other locations. I have always enjoyed helping others and look forward to helping future students!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I believe the most important aspect of finding a tutor is finding someone who is a good fit. A tutor had to be able to connect with their student to make progress.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is important to consider how much effort you are willing to put into learning. Students should consider what they expect to put in at our sessions as well as what they expect to get out of it, be that higher grades or more confidence in their abilities or something else entirely.
