When I was first learning how to read, I was put into the lowest reading level in my class and know the hard days that come with not receiving the proper amount of attention to succeed. Because of this experience, I hated English and thought I would never become a better reader or writer. After having one teacher that supported me I began to love English and have now won state-recognized awards for my words. I wish to do the same work for my students as that teacher did for me and allow them to find confidence in their English classes.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to first get to know the student and establish where they stand, whether they're still young and learning the basics or needing some extra help in an AP class. Next, I focus on their strengths and weaknesses and create an individualized plan for their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was an English tutor at my high school, helping mostly with essays specifically. I was very successful in AP English Literature and AP English Composition. Now, I am attending the University of Kansas.
