Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I set realistic goals for each student based on their work ethic, and I like to let students work at their own pace. My style/method of teaching will vary, because each student is different.
I like to make learning fun and relaxed, and I like to provide rewards for my students for their progress (candy, if allowed, or stickers, little toys, fun games to play at the end of lessons, ect).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a senior at IU South Bend, double majoring in German and English. I have a 3.5 GPA; I'm no stranger at all to hard work and intense studying.
I've tutored family friends and relatives for many, many years, and English (writing, reading, grammar, ect), is my specialty.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I'm looking for at least $10-20/hr; I am willing to negotiate for families who are struggling.
