Science Tutoring Ignited

Katie Jewell was my science teacher throughout middle school and was one of my favorite teachers by far, even though science was not my favorite subject. She made every lesson interactive and memorable, I remember some of the activities and concepts even now, 9 years later. I specifically remember enjoying our biology units, recreating a cell out of food, making family trees for different organisms, designing our own biospheres out of recycled 2 liter bottles, and keeping a science journal with our notes, worksheets, and projects in it. I especially remember using that journal to help me as I went into high school and had trouble with my science classes there. Katie Jewells teaching style showed that she cared about me as a person. She didnt just care that I got an A, she wanted me to learn and grow and really appreciate science. I can confidentially say even though science was not my favorite or best subject, I genuinely enjoyed Katies classes, her teaching style and learned the most from her classes. Any student would be in great hands to learn from her.

Got to know student in a genuine way and showed interest for the student in both an educational and personal sense. Very passionate about finding the best way for the student to learn. Very committed!

They were always well informed and patient. Making sure I understood every step of the way. If ever there was a question we all didnt know we would find out together.
