About
Economics: I graduated summa cum laude in 2018 with a B.S. in Economics. Through my university's Center for Student Success, I tutored for economics students for two years, and I led study groups throughout my undergraduate education. Currently, I provide economic analysis for a state government agency, and I am a graduate student in public policy. I have guest-lectured economics classes.
Writing: Through my career, I have demonstrated proficiency in multiple forms of writing. Professionally, I frequently write memos and literature reviews on economic topics my office is studying, and I have edited and proofread countless more pieces for others. I have published several dozen op-eds in national publications. Academically, I have written and presented papers at undergraduate research conferences. Additionally, my second major was in Humanities, which strongly refined my writing abilities and demonstrates my ability to discuss a variety of topics.
American Government: My professional and noncurricular experience since high school have fostered a deep knowledge and passion for understanding the American government system. For an indication, I took a minor in political science in college for fun and received a high A in every class, and while the political science department did not have official TAs, the professors identified me as a go-to resource for struggling students.
General teaching experience: I taught at a debate camp for several years
Every student can be a good learner, but not every student has the gift of a teacher that can communicate with them. As a tutor, my specialty is finding the disconnect between the material or teacher and the student, and reworking the topic in a way the student can grasp. Students experience "lightbulb moments" when they see the subject on their own terms, and I enjoy being a guide to bring them there.

How did you get started teaching?
Out of my desire to understand comes an ability to explain, and numerous peers and teachers in my life encouraged me to be an open resource for others who want a little extra guidance in their learning. I kept saying yes to teaching and tutoring opportunities, and those experiences gave me the foundation to be a professional tutor today.
