I am currently a 3rd grade teacher in Indianapolis. I love kids, and the best part of my teaching and tutoring job is helping a child find a passion for reading and writing. I never loved reading growing up, but I had an amazing teacher who showed me how fun it could be, and now I strive to do that for others. I use fun and interesting books and articles to build stamina and a lifelong love for reading.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to talk on the phone or meet in person and get to know their interests and struggles. This will help me differentiate what they need and how I can best help to teach and guide them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in elementary education and minored in special education and ENL at Butler University. I have tutored after school through my school for two years on top of regular teaching.
