Autumn's Writing Workshop
About
Not only do I have several years of teaching and tutoring experience that makes my services stand out from others, but I also know what it's like to be in your shoes and seeking support through school work. In elementary and middle school, I had to seek additional support to complete my work. I am thankful that my family and teachers put in the time to support me, as it allowed me go on and get a bachelor's and master's degree! So, I know what it's like to struggle on a topic and I hope that my services provide the empathy needed to prove that you can succeed.
I love working one-on-one with students because it gives me the opportunity to learn more about their habits and tailor my tutoring style to their needs. Watching a student go from dreading the writing process to feeling empowered when they write makes me so happy, and I would love to start that journey with you today!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When meeting a new student, I like to make sure I can develop rapport and trust with them. I like to get a sense of what their background with writing is, what their writing process looks like, and figure out ways to develop effective strategies moving forward so that the student can develop on their own after working with me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My bachelor's degree is in professional writing and I have a master's degree in critical studies in literacy and pedagogy (which is just a fancy way of saying that I am uniquely qualified to teach and tutor writing). In addition to those degrees, I also have 4 years of experience teaching and tutoring writing at the college level.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates start at $30/hour, but if that is outside of your comfort level, we can discuss sliding scale options.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who treats you with respect! The teaching experience should be an opportunity for you to learn, not just be told what's "right" and what's "wrong." Find a teacher who gives you the respect you deserve.
