I love working with children and I have a passion for helping those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilites. Every child has a different method of learning and lense in school. My job is to help your child identify it and apply it to all subjects.
I just enjoy helping people learn. The most fulfilling thing is when a child finally has that clicking moment and things become so much easier in school.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is necissary to understand the most effective way of teaching for that specific student. I additionally like to understand what their basic knowledge is and what they struggle in. It is crucial for you to also let your student get to know you so you can gain trust and understanding from one another.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a special needs instuctor and aid at my work. I am also a nanny and support my kids with their homework. I have been trained at the Best Buddies Leadership conference in how to treat someone with special needs in a supportive, but equal, way.
How did you get started teaching?
I love teaching children and adults with special needs and without. I discovered this love by volunteering at my local communitiy center for service hours. I soon started a job and began my education to teach.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages of people who have special needs as well as preschool-middle school ages without special needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that your child can connect and trust your teacher so that they look forward to learning and not hate it. Learning is an incredible experience that is only done well with a teacher your child loves.
