I am a state licensed English educator (Indiana). I have 10+ years teaching English to high school students. I have an undergraduate degree in English, and a Masters in Secondary Education. I show incredible patience and love to help students see for themselves why English is such an important subject.
I enjoy seeing students conquer a fear they have of reading and interpreting literature.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to talk to the student to find out his/her interests. What they do and don't like about the subject, English, is important so that I can find ways to focus on their areas of strengths and weaknesses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in English Literature and a MA in Secondary Education. I have 10 years of teaching experience at the high school level, but I am also certified to teach grades 6-12. I am looking into taking classes for my second Master's degree in English.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from all ranges. Some do not like the subject and struggle to understand why it is important. Some love the subject and need help refining their thought and writing process.
