Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First step is to always figure out what needs the most help and go from there. As a current AP Lit student, my strengths lie in English skills. With that, I like to work through a plan of what the client wants to take away and what the parents want to see in terms of progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I work with kids by volunteering at church, so my ability to communicate with them makes learning fun. I am also a current junior, so my focus group of students is intermediate and elementary school.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
An hour session one on one = $30
An hour session with 2-3 students= $20
How did you get started teaching?
Through my love for english and kids!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have yet to work with students in a school setting because i am still a highschool student, but my hope is to one day be a teacher!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you work well with. The relationship will make the experience so much better for the both of you and you'll get more out of it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
"What do i want to learn, and how do i learn best?"
