I have been teaching high school and college English (literature, composition, etymology, creative writing, and remediation courses for standardized testing) for 35 years; in fact, I am still teaching at New Tech Institute in EVSC. I love it; what can I say? In addition to EVSC, I have taught home schoolers, night school adult basic ed, alternative education, and tutored all ages. I have taught Eng 98,101,201, and ESL at USI. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to see writing samples and have them take an assessment to see where they are and what they need. Then the student and I use resources accordingly. Students wil have access to these resources even outside of tutoring.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English Education.
