Hello! This is Kim with Schmidt Academics. I have 19 years tutoring experience and have been tutoring online since 2020. I use Google Meet and 2 devices such that your student can see me, my whiteboard, and textbook or problems that we are working on. All they need is a pencil and paper and a device to access the meeting. I asses their needs and strengths and develop a plan tailored to their needs. My sessions range from 20-60 minutes depending on their age and math level. I can assign homework or practice if the parents would like that. I am flexible and will work hard to help your student with their needs!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After assessing the student's needs, I develop a study plan and arrange a meeting time for our first Google Meet.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 18+ years of tutoring experience, primarily in Math and English/Reading.

My summer rate is $25/30 minutes for most subjects and grade levels.
How did you get started teaching?
I began homeschooling my six children 19 years ago, which led to my love of teaching not only my own children, but other students as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging from kindergardeners to college students, and every level in between! I have experience working with accelerated learners, as well as dyslexic students, students with ADHD, or other learning disablilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I absolutely love when one of my students has a breakthrough moment! Recently, a student that had been struggling with Algebra did very well on a test and it was so rewarding to see his confidence soar! Your hard work in studying will pay off!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a tutor with experience in the area that you need help with. Do not be afraid to change tutors if your current tutor is not meeting your needs.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know what your specific goals and needs are, and keep searching until you find the prefect match!
