What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first enocunter with a student-learner generally is spent with an introduction, assessment and goal-setting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started tutoring at 8 years old. I mastered Algebra by the 2nd Grade. So by the time I got to take it in the 7th Grade, I had all As. In high school as a junior I had Calculus and Physics with the Seniors. I had all As for both semesters. I aspired to become a Mechanical Engineer and pursued my education at Prairie View A&M University and later Illinois Institutue of Technology. I taught Mathematics on all levels on Secondary grade levels: Algebra to Calculus. I taught in Houston at Smily High School, Aldine Senior High School and Gulf Shores Academy (cut my teeth here).
Presently I am the CTE Academy Engineering Instructor at George Washington High School in Indianapolis, IN. I am a student of the IPS School System, graduating early and as an International Rotary Student.
