About
While a student, I taught French to a diverse group of learners, from young children to adults, in both formal and informal settings. My experience included roles as both a classroom teacher and a private tutor.
As a classroom teacher, I developed and implemented a curriculum for a small group of elementary-aged students. My lessons were highly interactive and focused on building foundational skills through games, songs, and storytelling. I emphasized a communicative approach, encouraging students to speak and interact in French from the very beginning. I created a supportive and fun environment that made learning a new language less intimidating and more like a game. Seeing a child's face light up when they successfully formed a simple sentence was incredibly rewarding.
As a private tutor, I worked with high school and college students who needed extra help with their French courses. In these one-on-one sessions, I tailored my approach to each student's specific needs and learning style. For one student struggling with grammar, I created a series of targeted exercises and visual aids to help them grasp complex concepts like verb conjugations and gender agreement. For another student who needed to improve their conversational skills, we practiced role-playing and discussed current events to build their vocabulary and fluency.
In both roles, my goal was to make French accessible and enjoyable. I learned to be adaptable, patient, and creative in my teaching methods. This experience not only deepened my own understanding of the French language but also taught me the importance of clear communication and personalized instruction
