I prefer to begin with the basics such as if they are just getting started with being able to ask for simple things such as? Where is the nearest grocery store or where can I get gas or maybe if they're in a restaurant where can I find a bathroom? But from then on I prefer to speak with a student a few days prior and ask him what their goals are and if it is that they're trying to learn a new language to obtain a job or whatever the case may be and I like to develop a lesson plan a few days prior and then when it's time to work with a student go to that specific lesson plan Rather than meat using the lesson plans and teaching them things first that they may not wanna learn until later on so I like to really bass lesson plans around what my student would like to learn first and then go from there. I have found that has been the best approach for my students and now I have worked however if a student says they would like me to plan the lesson plans and start from the beginning and work our way from there I'm totally open to that as well! As long as I can help a student and at the end they're able to accomplish whatever their goal was and that is made them happy that I am happy in my job has successfully been done! And then as I stated in a prior message I love to work with a student even afterwords of course with no charge and always keep in touch via cell phone or email or whatever their method of contact is preferred if they ever need to reach out and ask a question or if they are somewhere and maybe it's something we haven't went over and they need to give me a quick call and say hey how do I ask this person this or how do I say this I am more than happy and always available to answer those questions for them after our lessons have been completed because to be honest I like to look at my students as friends from the beginning but more importantly after we've completed our sessions I like to look at them as friends and a friend of someone you can always count on and call for help and that's what I like to be at the end of all of that! That is more fulfilling to me than even the sessions we may go over with during the typical teaching session! Also I am willing to work in their home they can come to my home even with Covid I have safety precautions in place him as long as there is the 6 foot social distancing and masks in place hand sanitizer and so on and so forth I have no issues whatsoever with probably 20+ students I've worked with over the last just over a year and since this pandemic has been in place!

My pricing I would say is a little less than what others are because again this is my passion to teach others something that will further better their lives because I've always wanted to make A difference in the lives of one person but if I can do it from multiple people that I feel like when my time on earth is done then my goal has been completed and then I feel like if they have children and/or family they can then pass on what they've learned to them and then you have a whole family with a whole new language that can open up a whole new world of opportunities for them and I think that is just amazing! So just depending on the extensiveness maybe what they already know it will be getting from scratch and again I also look at what they can afford I don't want to charge more to where a person may have to push off the light bill to be able to pay for a session I am also Willing to take payments if necessary but still complete that session as long as the job gets done that is what the cells me and makes me happy to do this job!

Actually I was a nurse and I did not intend on teaching but when I was a nurse I was able to speak to some of the other patients when other nursing staff couldn't and so one of my colleagues had asked me if I had ever considered maybe teaching a class to help others learn English and at the time I was so swamped with nursing that it just wasn't feasible. However about two years ago I had a few students here and there because again as a nurse I was very busy working 24 hour shifts but even after working a 24 hour shift if that students time frame worked out even an hour after I was done with that 24 hour shift I would still do it two or three hour session with them and then sleep whenever I could. However when This unfortunate pandemic him about the doctors office I work for clothes down sadly and I started looking for other alternatives and everyone that I knew said you're so great was working with people you did great with the students that you did have so why don't you try doing that more and so I figured why not give it a try? So here I am ! 

I have worked with probably every student you could possibly imagine. From unemployed with very little money and I have worked with them on that I have actually done some students and charged absolutely nothing and just told him that if they're able to get employed based on what they've been taught later in the future if they could make payments that's fine and if not that's OK too it just makes me so happy to know that what I've taught them makes it possible for them to go in the work field and provide for their family based on a new skill that they have learned because these days multilingual is so critical and so many different aspects and so many different Career fields! I've also worked with clients that have lots of money but again I still don't charge more just because they make more money! Once more I do this because I'm very passionate about being able to teach someone a new skill That can further and better their lives especially if they have kids and a wife and or husband and it can make their lives a more positive and less stressful experience for them and their family so I do this more because I'm passionate about it so I still don't have a charge regardless of the situation and I like to say that I charge less than what most to! So I have worked with students with a very wide array some unemployed some that are in high powered position so you name it and I've probably worked with them and I work with them all the exact same! The reason for that is because my end goal is the exact same no matter who I'm working with! 

We are always involved in events! I am a mother of 18-year-old twin daughters and also an eight-year-old daughter! So I have always taught them to stand up for what you believe is right and so we've been involved in some very peaceful marches that stands for equality for people no matter the color race sexual orientation sexual preference etc. I think all humans are equal and I will stand up for that no matter what and so to show my kids that is amazing as well! Also an event and I am fond of as I had my three daughters in the car and there was an elderly lady on the side of the road with two flat tires bc apparently has she had bad eyesight and her daughter wasn't available to drive her she took a sharp turn and flatten two of her tires by hitting a curb! Her eyesight was so bad that she could not see the numbers on her phone barely because it was sunny outside so I called the truck truck sat there for over three hours when it was 102° outside and instead of making her wait outside I Jove her over an hour to her living facility which was a assisted living facility and what makes it so fond is that not only did I teach my daughters because we were in the middle of moving and we were very rushed for time but regardless of that you always stop and help people that is the most important or if a person is in line in front of you and maybe it's a mother with her two kids and she doesn't have enough money and the kids have to put the candy back if you can kindly offer a few dollars just to say hey I'm passing it on I love to show my kids to always help people and they can but the Elderly lady that had the flat tire we have since become very close because I learned she had a daughter that lived within 1 mile of her but since she bought the house for her daughter over 10 years ago not seven streets away from her assisted living facility she has not seen her one time and the only time she did see her she came to her house and stole money checks some medicine and some things from her home and I've stayed in contact with her we even had her over for Christmas this year and Thanksgiving and she has become a part of our family so it showed my kids that a simple stop on the side of the road Kinley just so much more that lady has cried to me numerous times and told me how much more in Richmond better her life is now that may be her own daughters and children don't come visit her but it's made it so much better to know that she has people to care for her Elderly lady that had the flat tire we have since become very close because I learned she had a daughter that lived within 1 mile of her but since she bought the house for her daughter over 10 years ago not seven streets away from her assisted living facility she has not seen her one time and the only time she did see her she came to her house and stole money checks some medicine and some things from her home and I've stayed in contact with her we even had her over for Christmas this year and Thanksgiving and she has become a part of our family so it showed my kids that a simple stop on the side of the road Kinley just so much more that lady has cried to me numerous times and told me how much more in Richmond better her life is now that may be her own daughters and children don't come visit her but it's made it so much better to know that she has people to care for her so that simple stop along the side of the road lead so much more now my children look at her like a grandma and she is an extremely important part of our family and it makes my heart warm to think about it! 

Definitely look for a teacher who is looking to aim to teach what you are focused on and not a teacher that has a set lesson plan that they are going to stick to no matter what even if it's something you're not interesting and learning at first because again I believe in teaching the very basics to begin with so when you're out in public you're able to ask for directions or where is the nearest bus or where is the bathroom or to explain something on an English menu that you don't quite understand but from then on based on what you're looking to do with your life or maybe family members you're looking to communicate with it don't speak English or so on and so forth then I think the lesson plan should be based around what you and you only looking looking to learn and what is most pertinent to you and then after that if you would like to learn more to fully learn the entire scope of English I am more than happy to continue working in building lesson plans and I also like to let the student review that lesson plan prior to our session to make sure that this is exactly what you would like to learn during the next session and if not I am more than happy to revise that lesson because I don't ever want you to be in a session and feel either board or that you're learning something that's not necessarily important at that moment in time! So I would say to never settle for a teacher that's pushing you to follow their exact lesson plan exactly as they lay it out even if you feel like it's something you're not interested at that very moment always find someone who is willing to teach you what your most passionate or what's most important to you to learn first and then work on from there! After all the student is most important that's why we are here to teach the student so I'm not gonna force the lesson plan down your throat that you have no desire to Lauren because I don't know why a student would ever come back after that! I also feel like there needs to be some type of friendship I think you need to have a level of comfort with that person and ease of speaking with them and so much more it's not just teaching them a language it's been comfortable and knowing that if you're out in the restaurant and you need to text or call my cell phone then I'm going to answer and I'm gonna help you through that and I'm not going to say oh by the way that's an extra 10 bucks for that question you needed to ask because that's absurd and trust me I've heard of it being done! I think that the teachers should be there during after no matter what at any time and point that you need me or any teacher that you choose to go with should be there for you even afterwards if you need help further along the lines without charging for a "session" just to answer a simple question or to help you with one or two words or just one sentence.

Kind of what I said above asked him what type of lesson plans they use and if they are willing to go over the preview of the lesson plan prior to the session because again you don't wanna be paying for things that aren't necessarily of importance to you or extreme importance I should say at that very moment but instead ask if that teacher is willing to talk to you first and see what is most important that you learn first along with the basics and then if the needs still arises that they work from you from there so that full conversations can be carried on no matter what situation you're in no matter what person you're around and no matter what it is you need to ask or say you're able to do so. It always needs to be based around the student not the teacher and that is unwavering opinion of my own and I'm sure all teachers do it differently but that is my opinion and that will never change! We're here for you not the other way around! I would also ask a teacher and even after the lesson plans are done if You ever need them is there a line of communication open so that you can call them if you're in a restaurant like I've stated several times to ask a question or maybe something you didn't go over that you need to learn a quick sentence or a few words and if they're open to doing so because an open line of communication from the time you decide to work together and hopefully lifelong friends is very very very important to me that again all teachers are different so maybe some only do it during the lesson plans and while they're getting paid but that is not my belief so it's based on what you as a student are looking for and you have to decide what is right for you but make sure you're never ever scared or timid to ask those questions because after all this is about you and not us!
