I love working with students who think writing is boring--who say, "it doesn't matter what I write...".

I only work in person because I believe that wrtiting is personal and I need to really listen and try to understand the challenges of each student. I understand that writing can be challenging but try to get to know the student before we work on the writing in order to make sure to infuse their style and voice into the work. I am patient and enthusiastic and try to infuse fun ideas to make this tedious work more manageable!

I have been a nonprofit executive for the past 8 years and have missed working directly with students (and their families) and making an impact on their lives. I started out as a high school English teacher and have been helping my friend's kids for the past years with their college admissions essays. I have enjoyed their successes and believe that if I can play even a small role, then I win as well!
