Vanessa L. says, "Andrea truly sees what our son needs help with, even if he has not figured out or articulated where he is needing help. She takes the time and care to observe and is adept at determining where their energy and focus is best spent. Whether that is drilling into the details of budgeting in math class, practicing presentation skills for his next project, or structuring his writing, she is able to flex her approach to meet him where he is, and help him to grow. She is such a positive force in his student life! Andrea truly cares and that makes such a huge impact on our son and on our family." Read more

Alex O. says, "I liked how Mike narrowed down the key concepts in every section of each chapter that my Calculus 1 course covered. He helped me achieve my goal of comprehension and application by explaining the definition of each formula, theorem, rule, etc. and then walking me through example problems step-by-step until I felt confident in my ability. Above all, he helped me accomplish all of this while I was under the stress of racing against time. Had my mother not found this tutor, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to learn the material, complete the assignments and projects, and ,with full confidence, take the final exam all in time. Not only did Michael help me save my grade, he also helped me on my college path as I need a solid understanding of Calculus 1 for my Biology Major going forward. A lot of the calculations I’ll be performing once I become a scientist will be grounded in Calculus (I.e derivatives), so Michael’s help in forming a solid foundation in Calculus was crucial to me. I’d definitely recommend him as a College/High school level Math and Physics tutor. I’ll be sure to refer him to a close friend of mine who shares my level of struggle with Pre-Calculus." Read more

Hello! I am a Chemical Engineering student double majoring in Physics and minoring in biotechnology at Northwestern University. For 2 years now, I have held a position as an Undergrad TA teaching Linear Algebra and other fundamental engineering concepts as an employee of the Electrical Engineering Department here. Before that, I served as a TA in an Homeschool AP Lit class. Over the years, I have come to realize I have a knack for walking students through the learning process from "What is this assignment asking for?" to "Where can I find the information I need?" to "How can I retain what I just learned?". Beyond merely providing explanations

Erica W. says, "Before selecting Great Expectations tutoring I shopped around looking at many well know tutoring companies. Many of the well known companies tried to oversell hours. I wanted an SAT math tutor to help improve my daughters score. She previously scored 590 and decided to retake the exam, one month before the next test date. Many companies tried to sell me upto 40 hours for math only test prep. Ben met with my daughter and assured me that the study plan he recommended would be sufficient for our overall goals. With one month of tutoring, my daughters score increased from 590 to 690. Additionally, my daughter is only a freshman in high school. We'll definitely use Ben again as she prepares to take the exam for college admission." Read more

I was referred through another family whose son got into UCLA after working with Ben. Ben helped my son improve 7 points on the ACT to a 33 score. Now my son is eligible for a lot of scholarships and has even gotten a full-ride offer from a few schools. I'm so grateful to Ben for being able to help my son - he is an awesome tutor!

Japjeev is the first tutor that my son went to, she was a catalyst in motivating him in becoming independent at "try first and then ask for help". She connected well with him and helped him with his after school homework assignments as well as critiquing his writings. I highly recommend her to 7th grade Math students who need help in their daily school assignments.

Susan is an experienced teacher. She is always prepared and ready to work with my son on new topics. She brings new books and materials so that teaching my son is always made in a fun way. He loves having her as a teacher. Another plus for us is the convenience. Susan comes to our house so this way it’s only one party in traffic. We are very happy to have her as our English teacher. I wish I would have done it sooner. Sincerely, Annamaria

Let me tell you, you are getting the best of the best with Patrick! He is a great human. I taught Patrick and two of his six siblings as a first grade teacher at Our Saviour Grade School. They were some of the smartest children I have ever taught, even today. I am still friends with his mother and father. I watched Patrick grow from a precocious boy to a responsible young man as he is a friend of my daughter as well. When he was in town for a while after graduating from Notre Dame, I was tutoring and one of my students needed help in an advanced math class. I didn’t feel I able to provide the guidance that he needed so I asked Pat. He gladly met my student and me and with ease, and an innate ability quickly explained what I could not! I have no doubt that he has the skills and abilities to guide your daughter to a better understanding of trigonometry. Please consider Patrick for the position of tutor for your son or daughter. I believe you will be very satisfied.
