About Me:

I'm a literacy educator with 10 years of teaching and intervention practice, and now I’m focusing on private tutoring and curriculum development. I’m known for impacting positive learning outcomes by taking a relationship forward approach and targeting instructional support. I use research to guide my instructional decisions. Psst - You might be surprised by how many teachers/schools aren’t following the research! Let’s change that! On a more personal note, I struggled to learn to read myself so I know how painful the process can be. My intention is to help kiddos learn to read in a simple and joyous way.

About My Process:

I start off by getting some diagnostic information about your child’s literacy development so that I understand what they already know. Then I use that data to plan a sequential course of action that will target the most important concepts/skills to help your child feel successful and see progress quickly. In lessons, I provide direct instruction in a very clear and matter of fact way to remove any mystery and provide opportunities for aligned practice. Each lesson includes review and application of previously taught concepts/skills and introduces a new concept/skill in a playful and multi-sensory way.
