Math/English Tutoring From A Bachelor's Degree In Industrial Engineering Prospect
About
My volunteering experience varies incredibly as I've worked as an advisor to younger students in the extra classroom period "Advisory," as a PE student leader to 60 younger students at a time, a leader of theater camps, basketball camps, and Catholic Sunday school, and confirmation programs. Now caught in the midst of a global pandemic, I am looking to expand my horizons as a tutor to allow me to pay for college. As I've been blessed with an incredible education, I only hope to pay it forward.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to ask about their views on the class, meaning the nature of the arithmetic and how their teacher explains theories/lessons. I like to then review notetaking practices before tackling current material. I will ask the student to explain their confusion and will go through the lesson with them again referring to their text, then will work through given problems from the supporting text and unique problems generated by myself. Through working through supplemental problems and some assigned homework, talking through conceptual processes should be achieved.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm an Industrial Engineering student and have one math class left in my studies to complete my mathematics requirements. I have a plethora of leadership experience corresponding with younger students as an advisor, and have been seeing tutors myself since I was in 7th grade.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
25$ per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I've always been highly involved in academic setting, and one day hope to become a teacher in the distant future. First, I hope to find work with my Industrial Engineering degree.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students from age 8-18
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The most recent event I am fond of was Christmas dinner with my immediate family this year. COVID-19 has really changed life as we know it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Please be considerate of their time as they will be of yours, and do your homework spread out throughout the week!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What exactly are the steps where breakdown of the logic occurs? Please be ready to explain your current understanding of the formulas/arithmetic and where you need clarification.
