About

I love to see my students using their new language and watching their eyes and face light up when they realize that they are doing it! My goal is to help each student realize that they are capable of reaching their language learning goals and show them the fun and wonder of learning English, and why it is important for their future.

My name is Theodore Treadway. I have spent the last 23 years teaching English as a Second Language in a variety of settings. I have taught in private schools, taught privately and have used my Spanish language skills as well to help Spanish speaking students in their acquisition of a new language and new skills in the country of Guatemala.

I hold the following degrees:

Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish Language & Literature from Illinois Wesleyan University

Master's of Arts in TESL from University of Central Missouri

Certificate in Hispanic Studies from Universidad de Granada, Granada, Espana and Central College, Iowa

I have developed and administered and taught English Language Learning programs at several schools in Guatemala and in Learning Center I created to provide opportunities to young learners who would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn English.

I speak Spanish fluently as well, and often serve translating or interpreting from English to Spanish and vice verse.

It would be my pleasure and joy to help you smile after every lesson as you realize that YOU were given the ability to do whatever you set your heart and mind to doing, and that includes learing to speak, read, write, and truly communicate in the English language.
