Josefien Stoppelenburg Voice Lessons
About
I'm a seasoned performer and love the human voice at any stage and level. In my lessons we focus on what is already good about your voice and I'll give you tools to improve other aspects of your singing. We'll figure out your voice type and choose pieces that fit best with your particular voice in the musical style that you feel most connected with. I want authentic expression from my students. That can be Classical, Pop, Broadway, Jazz, R&B, anything. I'll show you good vocal technique and habits to keep your voice healthy.
I love the voice at any level, age and style. It's endlessly fascinating to me how a personality shines through everyone's voice. Not one voice is the same as anybody else's, and therefore the approach in voice lessons is very different in each student. I passionately love trying to find ways that make your voice come out and blossom. It's a fantastic moment when a student suddenly realizes and hears what a great voice there has been in him or her all along.

In our first session, you sing for me and tell me what it is you had in mind with lessons.(want to get a better pitch, have vocal nodes, want to explore my voice, want help with interpretation, want to optimize my speaking voice, want coaching in a certain style, or just want to sing and have fun, etc.), We explore your voice together!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied at the conservatories in Utrecht and Amsterdam (The Netherlands, where I am from) then went to Cologne (Germany) to sing in the Young Chamber Opera Company there.I currently perform all over the world as a soloist, but reside in Wilmette, Il.

People who always wanted to sing but were shy or not confident about it. People who want to audition for Tue Voice or America's Got Talent. People with vocal nodes, high school students who want to explore their singing voice, children from these of 7 years old. Older people who feel their voice changing and want to regain some control. People who need to give Ted Talks and want to improve their vocal presentation. Conservatory students.
