Nathaniel Drexler
About
My name is Nathaniel Drexler and I recently graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy at Northwestern University. In a few years I plan to obtain a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. My career goal is to work as a Child Psychologist in clinical settings.
I have 5 years tutoring experience at Kumon Math and Reading Center, working as the New Student Coordinator and tutor. I tutored hundreds of students, from ages 6-14, in math and reading concepts. In addition to my Kumon experience, I have been tutoring students over zoom for the more than a year.
I also worked at My Gym Fitness Center as a gymnastics teacher for children, and the Brit-am Soccer Academy as an assistant coach. I have taught soccer and gymnastics to pre-k through middle school age kids, managed behavioral issues, and had fun!
My academic achievements also qualify me well for tutoring, as I have demonstrated mastery across broad academic subjects. I attained a perfect score of 36 on the ACT, and I have maintained a 3.9 GPA at Northwestern.
I have a true passion for helping children learn and succeed academically. I enjoy adapting my tutoring techniques to their particular personalities and learning styles. My varied work and volunteer experiences with youth have helped me to develop a comfortable and nuanced approach to working with children. In addition, my Psychology coursework and training have contributed to building a responsive and flexible interpersonal style.
